A Chip Off The Old Block!

May 28, 2014

One of my favourite materials to use in our interior design projects has got to be chip wood, I absolutely love its raw and rustic appeal as well as its versatility and how it can really give a whole personality to a store design. Today’s feature project is called SUIT and it’s an awesome example of how using chip wood in a retail design can achieve a super cool look and finish.

SUIT based in Reykjavík was designed by Icelandic design house, HAF Studio, not only is the chip wood the main design feature on this project but it is complimented perfectly by the chop tiles and the exposed finishes such as the poured concrete flooring and the steel balustrades. I am a huge fan of the visual merchandising appeal that chip wood can bring and this store is a perfect example of that appeal. A super funky store with so many cool elements but in our opinion, it’s the chip wood that steals the show 🙂
