A Different Kind Of Phone Shopping!

April 18, 2012

It’s been sometime since we featured a cool pop up store on this blog so today is the day we rectify that little fact. This pop up retail store is not like most retail stores, although the walls are packed to the brim with apparel you will find it near impossible to try anything on, unless you’re prepared to wrap yourself in wallpaper.

Forgive me if I am sounding a little cryptic but all shall be revealed. The Vero Moda Online Pop Up Store popped up in November of last year in the town of Aarhus in Denmark and ran for a month through to December end. Taking a new approach to retail Vero Moda based their pop up store around the integration of technology from the use of QR Codes to the (now) old fashioned online catalogue. The idea is that you “shop around” and scan the items you want and then they are delivered to your home.

Although this is a step away from traditional mainstream retail I got to say that the idea is pretty funky, even though I am definitely a look & feel type shopper I still have to admire the difference of this concept. What I also like is the store layout and design, although essentially a physical online port (I am sure that is an oxymoron) it still didn’t stop Vero Moda from making the space look awesome. Like the store concept the design is simple, very simple but in this case it needs to be and what they have done well is to use quality finishes and fixtures, of course I am always going to be sucker for any space that uses Macs but they do sit rather well on the lovely table and the flooring definitely retains a certain rustic chic look. Check out the cool images below and don’t put your QR scanner too close to the screen or you might have a bit of surprise waiting for you when you get home.
