A Quaint, Charming & Rustic Bakery Design!

November 11, 2012

By now most of you who read this blog will know of my love for projects that retain a certain sense of eclectic rustic charm, especially when those projects involve the design of something that you wouldn’t necessarily associate with this type of design. Today’s feature project is an awesome example of this. The Serrajòrdia Bakery is based in the town of Sant Cugat del Valles, not too far away from Barcelona and it has eclectic rustic charm in abundance.

Designed by AM_Asociados this bakery is all about stripping a design back to its bare bones and adding to it with only subtle and succinct touches that fit to enhance the space rather than act as needless over the top and cluttered design feature. I adore the use of the old mismatched vintage furniture; the white washed cabinetry sits beautifully against the contrasting flooring and the gorgeous light fittings tie these exposed yet alluring design elements all together perfectly. My only slight against this project is the ducting in the ceiling, it detracts from the quaint beauty of this space but for everything else it is a slight that I can easily overlook.
