A Room With A View!

Today we are taking a slightly more sophisticated look at restaurant design and when sophisticated dining is mentioned it is hard not to think of Paris. Today’s feature project is from Parisian based architects Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance and it is a marriage of chic style, breathtaking views, beautiful architectural form and stunning lighting design.

The restaurant is called Ciel De Paris and is based on the 56th floor of Montparnasse Tower in the heart of Paris, high up from the ground with unrivaled views of The Eifel Tower and greater Paris. With such a stunning location it was imperative that the designers make the most of its situation and this they certainly did as Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance describe below:

From the bay windows to the central bar, depending on the aura of the mirrors, the skilled composition of the somber reflections strengthens and transforms perspectives. The view becomes space; space becomes the view. The golden glints of the City of Light bounce off the sensual curves and materials. Paris is sparkling and all of a sudden the tower is more desirable. This primarily touristic venue has become welcoming and ethereal, a pleasurable experience designed for everyone.

As you can see from the images below this restaurant design is a wonderful canvas that allows the scenery to paint itself on through the clever use of the reflective elements in the design such as the paneled wall mirrors and ceiling mirrors that allow the subtle, soft and delicate lighting to act as the main design feature of the space. This mixed with the sleek contemporary furniture pieces and the soft curves of the architectural form coupled with the soft color palette of grayscale and chocolate brown give this project a sense of style, sophistication and warmth be it day or night, the perfect complement to such an envious view.
