A Spicy Store Design With A Whole Lot Of Kick!

March 22, 2012

It’s the end of our week again in the UAE, time to unwind, get ready to let loose and generally kick back. It is also at this stage that we usually feature a more funky feature project, something creative and colorful to lead us into the weekend, because let’s be honest be it a Thursday in the Middle East or a Friday afternoon in Europe or Australia we are all feeling a little more chipper.

What has got our design buds tingling this fine Thursday afternoon? It is a new retail outlet based in Seoul, South Korea and the design isn’t the only thing awesome about this project, the name of it is as equally cool. The Spicy Color flagship store designed by South Korean based firm m4 is exactly the type of project that ticks our happy buttons.

The bold and colorful store design is the first thing that automatically sets us off on our appreciation trail, followed by the clever visual merchandising aids such as the custom made shelving and storage units, throw in some quirky lighting features and origami inspired lighting fixtures and finally add a dollop of great and attractive apparel and what do you get? You get an awesom store design that is well deserving of its place on this blog as being our Thursday Funky Fun Fresh Feature Project.  Another reason this project resonates so well with us, the notion of play, our mantra is design = create = play and with Spicy Color their mantra is Fashion is Play, now how perfect is that.
