A Taste Of New York In Paris!

March 6, 2013

It can be quite random sometimes, how we come up with what to feature on our blog, just today for instance, I was sitting in Jones The Grocer having a burger for lunch when it popped into my head that Dubai needs a really cool and funky burger joint. I know there are loads of places in Dubai that sell awesome burgers and there are some that even look pretty cool such as Burger Fuel, but what we are talking about is independent burger houses, one’s with a bit more soul, a bit more character and a bit more personality.

Check out today’s cool concept as an example, Paris New York Hamburgers is a restaurant based in Paris and was designed by Cut Architects.  (Remember them, they are the dudes responsible for our favorite café design ever, Café Coutume) From first glance this just looks like a clean cut café filled with stainless steel, a greasy spoon of sorts, but as you delve further into the design you see that it is so much more than this. The bright lights of New York rock as a ceiling feature, the exposed walls akin to those in Café Coutume reflect the grotty  and earthy nature of this design, there’s no frills no fuss but there is lots of character and soul, this stripped back look with a hint of modern polished design is built for fast food, it’s built to take punishment and like the underground and streets of Paris and New York it is built to take heavy traffic and with a design as awesome as this and good burgers this burger joint will be taking plenty of traffic in the coming years. A really simple, yet clever design that really makes this burger bar stand out above all those chains we have come to rely on.
