Beautiful, Clean, Simple Yet Stunning Japanese Retail Design!
It has never been a great secret to anyone, in fact I shout it from the rooftops at every chance I get, but I just love Japanese Architecture and Interior Design. This is for several reasons but the main being that it is so inspiring as to what the Japanese do with small spaces but also they show no fear in keeping things simple and sometimes it is this simplicity that stands out as the main design feature.
Take today’s feature project as a perfect example, based in Kyoto, Otsuka-Gofukuten is a kimono shop that doesn’t pop or jump out, it is quiet, understated, clean and simple. Saying that though the design is incredibly clever and subtle, for example look at the smart custom made visual merchandising units, they are absolutely gorgeous, so clean, so chic and so very awesome. The clean concrete backdrop, the exposed ceiling rafts and even those two loose stones are all on purpose, nothing is out of place and nothing is a loose filler, the designer Yusuke Seki has just done a beautiful job with this store. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
