Chill Out This Summer In An Ice Cream Castle!
It’s coming to that time of the year again, that time of the year when temperatures are soaring and the sky takes on a vibrant shade of blue, summer is almost here, which means that for the next few months we are all going to be looking for ways to cool ourselves down. It may be done by jumping into a swimming pool or blasting the A/C out in the office or car or by applying ice packs to the neck, shoulders and head, especially in Dubai, or you may try one of my favorite ways to cool down, Ice Cream and Gelato. Ice cream and gelato are one of the few perks of living in a soaring hot country during summer and when they are served in funky little places like today’s feature project it makes it even more delicious and tempting.
Diplom is based in Oslo in Norway and it’s not just an ice cream shop, it’s an ice cream castle. The designers, Scenario Interior Architects have created a magic land where ice cream is served in abundance amongst arctic guests such as the penguins and Eskimos. The first thing that strikes me about this project, apart from the cute penguins, is the awesome ceiling feature, it looks like yummy dripping flavors of ice cream or lollipops that has frozen in suspense. The playful wall graphics, abundance of color and ice capped counter tops mixed with the ice lake-flooring feature all work magically together to create a winter wonderland that will be guaranteed to chill out the hottest of customers. Diplom is a really playful and funky design and one that simply screams fun and enjoyment out to me, a bit like how I recant my childhood memories that involved ice cream. Check out the cool photos below of this quirky Ice Cream Castle that is home to the Penguins and Eskimonka.
