Coffee On The Go!

December 28, 2011

We may not be the biggest fans in the world of their coffee, but we can’t help but be fans of what Starbucks having been doing with their interior design and brand image over the last year or so. Be it the integration of Augmented Reality into their marketing campaigns, the use of QR codes or the new sustainable and environmentally friendly approach to their store design we cannot help but be impressed.

Now Starbucks have gone one step further and reminded us even more so why they are leaders in the tea and coffee / café field by creating a drive thru coffee stop in Tukwila, Washington. The design is LEED green building certified and is made up from four disused and reconstituted containers (you know how much we love our container architecture at Studio EM) this project combines many of our loves, awesome design being the first, pop up retail (of sorts) container architecture, sustainable design and wicked innovation.

We love the concept of a drive through coffee stop but we are not getting too excited or carried away as this is a one off project, for the mean time anyway. Check out the awesome images below.
