Retail That Makes You Smile!
It’s that time of the week again, as we prepare to go into the weekend we can’t help but be in a good mood, an extra special good mood this week as it is a long weekend in the UAE…. Woohoo! As we get ready to wind down another awesome week of designing, blogging, tweeting, sampling and site visits we thought we would share another one of our favorite super funky fresh and fun Thursday feature projects.
This week’s feature comes from Valencia in Spain and it’s a crazy cool retail project. Piccino is a children’s apparel boutique that offers some very fresh and colorful clothing for young kids, so it is of no surprise that their store is playful, vibrant and incredibly fun for both adults and kiddies. Designed by Valencia based firm Masquespacio also known as +Quespacio the space is all about the bright and the bold. Ana Milena Hernández Palacios was charged with designing both the interior and the graphic branding of the store and she has done an immense job in creating a space that brings a huge smile to our faces.
Like The Candy Room which we featured last year this space has been created using a 2D graphic backdrop that allows the colorful apparel and branding to leap out at you and grab your attention. I love how this stenciling effect is really shown off by the splashes of color through the characters and the graphics and the sharpness of some of the fabrics such as the curtains for the dressing room and the mirror linings. As a child I reckon this space is a real destination store, as an adult too, there is just so much to smile and laugh about. A really top notch and wonderful concept that has us smiling and laughing as we head into our long weekend.
