The Greentainer Project!

The Greentainer Project by Exposure Architects is a prime example of sustainable design using old shipping containers as a base for a meeting room or a lounge area, an office, or whatever your imagination can think of, the possibilites are endless. The container has been equipped with roof-top solar panels that supply all the energy necessary to run the heating-cooling systems, lights and other electronics that are a part of the project.

This concept is something we are working hard at developing in the Middle East as a source of affordable space as part of our Live Work Space Concept. Unfortunately as much as we like the project below, the use of the glass would need to be carefully considered for this region due to the severity of the heat during the summer. Nevertheless this project does showcase a greener standpoint on conatiner design and is well worth viewing.
