Your Local Grocer, Making A Welcomed Comeback!

September 30, 2013

Today’s feature project is a welcome reminder that the friendly local grocery store is not yet dead and could indeed be primed for a welcomed comeback. The local grocery store has diminished over the last decade or so thanks to mega chain hypermarket concepts but projects such as mini M grocery shop in Toulouse, France show that the humble local market still has a part to play in local neighbourhoods and more surprisingly in the world of commercial interior architecture and design.

Designed by Matali Crassent this mini market is old school in its ideals and concept but the interior design is anything but old school. It’s fresh. funky, slightly retro in a sense and strikingly bold.  There’s not much else to be said about the design that the images below don’t do for me but for me this project is a real winner and one that needs shared for its sheer awesomeness and its promotion of the local grocers.
